How NCSi Delivered a 100,000+ Record Migration Powered by Precision Bridge

NCSi, a specialist Ivanti partner, was tasked with migrating historical incident and change data from BMC Remedyforce into Ivanti Neurons for one of its customers. With the legacy platform approaching end of life, well over 100,000 records, together with their attachments and work notes, needed to be available in the new system for audit purposes.

NCSi selected Precision Bridge’s AI-Powered Data Migration and Management Platform for the project, having first evaluated the platform following Ivanti’s acquisition of Cherwell. The team had found it intuitive and easy to use, and this migration was the ideal opportunity to put it to work.

Rather than mapping legacy data into out-of-the-box modules, NCSi built dedicated historical incident and change modules in Ivanti Neurons for ITSM. This approach removed the need to reconcile validations, team and owner assignments, or users who had since left the organization, while keeping every migrated record searchable and linked to related incidents.

Precision Bridge’s automated configuration allowed NCSi’s consultant to direct exactly which data moved and where, including attachments, work notes and related records, with attachment migration enabled through a single setting. The platform’s expression capabilities, together with comprehensive product documentation, gave the consultant everything needed to build the project’s transformation logic.

The migration was completed in just over two months. All records, attachments and work notes were delivered into Ivanti Neurons for ITSM, giving the customer its full service history for audit in the new platform. NCSi achieved this without writing code or building APIs, freeing its development team to focus on other priorities.

"The platform is lovely. It was fantastic to work with, and I really enjoyed it. Being able to do this myself quickly and easily, with a little bit of guidance, is really going to simplify a lot of our upcoming data migrations.” - Thomas Adriaansen, ITSM Consultant, NCSi

With this migration successfully completed, NCSi is already discussing the use of Precision Bridge v10 for future projects, confident that the platform will continue to help it deliver fast, accurate migrations for its customers.
